HC Deb 04 December 1906 vol 166 cc736-7
MR. VILLIERS (Brighton)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if the Imperial Service Order and medal granted to officers and servants of the Post Office and other civil services can also be extended to officers and men of the police force.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) No, Sir, I fear not. The statutes of the Order and medal limit it to members of the civil services of the Crown, and these do not include the police.
