HC Deb 04 December 1906 vol 166 c756
MR. HUDSON

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the number of cases of break-away of express passenger trains on the East Coast Route of England (comprising the Great Northern, North Eastern, and North British Railway systems); how many cases have occurred during the past twelve months, and at what speed the trains wore running when these breaks-away occurred; what is the name of the automatic coupling in use; how many alterations have been made in it during the above-mentioned period; and if it is still in its experimental stage.

MR. LLOYD-GEORGE

I am in communication with the companies named in the hon. Member's Question and will inform him in due course of the result of my inquiries.
