HC Deb 04 December 1906 vol 166 cc740-1
MR. T. F. RICHARDS (Wolverhampton, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty how much chocolate has been manufactured at the Deptford victualling yard since December, 1905; how much of this was for use in the Navy; and how much of this amount was for the (Military) Indian State Office.

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. EDMUND ROBERTSON, Dundee)

No chocolate has been manufactured at the Deptford victualling yard since December, 1905, last year's conversion having ceased in that month. Climatic conditions render it inadvisable to manufacture except in the winter months. The manufacturing season for 1906–1907 is about to commence, and about 800,000 lbs. will be manufactured, all for Navy service.
