To ask the Prime Minister whether he can see his way, by legislation or otherwise, to secure for all recognised public hospitals complete ' exemption from rates and taxes.

(Answered by Sir H. Campbell-Banner-man.) The Question is one which raises many difficulties, and it will no doubt have to be considered whenever the revision of local taxation is taken up. In the meantime I am not prepared to make any general statement on the subject. I understand that hospitals are already exempt from certain Imperial taxes.
