§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. ASQUITH, Fifeshire, E.)I would refer my hon. friend to the table on page 79 of the Report of the Commissioners of Inland Revenue for the year 1904–5 (Cd. 2033), which gives the" Exchequer receipt of each of the eleven years from 1894–5 to 1904–5. In 1905–6 the amount paid into the Exchequer was £12,970,000.
