§ MR. LONSDALEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the proceedings of the Dublin Corporation at their meeting on June 11th, when they adopted the Report of a committee of the whole House, dated March 30th, which met to investigate the conduct of Councillor Anthony Madden, High Sheriff of the City of Dublin, and Councillor Thomas O'Reilly, in regard to a carting contract; whether he is aware that the Committee arrived unanimously at the conclusion that the circumstances disclosed were discreditable to the two councillors named; and whether any action is contemplated with a view to relieving them from their present responsibilities.
MR. BRYCEThe Local Government Board have no information concerning the proceedings of the Corporation in this matter beyond that which has appeared in the Dublin newspaper. The Board have no power to intervene in the matter.
