§ MR. TUFF (Rochester)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether arrangements will be made to secure for the cadets who will be leaving the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, in July next, the average number of commissions in the Royal Engineers.
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. ARNOLD-FORSTER, Belfast, W.)The number of commissions to be given to the Royal Engineers and Royal Artillery is based, from time to time, on the requirements of the service, and no hard-and-fast proportion can be laid down. As far as can be seen the numbers in July will be about one-third of the cadets to the Royal Engineers and two-thirds to the Royal Artillery.
