JOYCEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state how many public bodies in Ireland have forwarded resolutions asking for the appointment 344 of an Irish Commissioner in England to look after Irish agricultural interests, in the same manner as Denmark and Sweden does, and what answer has been given to those requests.
§ MR. WALTER LONGResolutions have been received from eight public bodies, and formal acknowledgments have been sent. The Department's transit inspectors visit the principal British markets, interview merchants engaged in the sale of Irish and foreign, produce, and make inquiries generally as to the marketing of the produce.
