WEIRTo ask the Postmaster-General whether he has received a 611 memorial from the female telephone staff at Glasgow protesting against being called on duty on Sunday; and, seeing that the male staff are anxious to take up the duty, will he consider the expediency of making such arrangements as will release the female staff at Glasgow from Sunday work.
§ (Answered by Lord Stanley.) I have received the memorial, and I informed the memorialists in October last that I see no good reason for relieving them of the Sunday duty, which comes round to each operator about one Sunday in every eight.
