§ MR. ROCHEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of 491 Ireland whether Martin Shea has signed an agreement to purchase a portion of the grazing land on the Mahon, Ballydonlan, Estate, purchased by the Estates Commissioners, which he previously held on the eleven months system; and, if so, what was his rent per acre then compared with future rent to the Government; and whether several of the tenants who signed agreements to purchase have since petitioned the Commissioners to take back the land, as they consider the future rent an impossible one.
§ MR. WALTER LONGMr. Shea has purchased ten acres on this estate, which he held as tenant. His rent was £1 8s. per acre, and the purchase annuity amounts to £1 3s. 6d. per acre. No such application as is mentioned in the last inquiry has been received by the Commissioners.
