CAWLEY (Lancashire, Prestwich)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he will state by whom the application of the Corporation of the city of Winchester for power to limit the speed of motor-cars to ten miles an hour whilst passing through that city was opposed at the local inquiry.
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe application was opposed at the inquiry on behalf of the Automobile Club, the Motor Union, the Hampshire Motor Union, and an individual resident of Winchester. Evidence in support of the opposition was given by eleven witnesses.
