The House being met, the Clerk at the Table informed the House of the unavoidable absence of Mr. SPEAKER and of the CHAIRMAN OF WAYS AND MEANS, owing to continued indisposition.

Whereupon Mr. JEFFREYS, the Deputy-Chairman, proceeded to the Table, and, after Prayers, took the Chair as Deputy-Speaker, pursuant^ the Standing Order.
