HC Deb 08 May 1905 vol 145 c1115
MR. CATHCART WASON (Orkney and Shetland)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has made any application to the Local Government Board to limit the speed of motor-cars within the city and county of London; and, if not, in view of the racing that takes place, especially on Sunday, he will take the matter into consideration.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Akers-Douglas.) No, Sir. I have no power to make an application under Section 9 of The Motor-Car Act, 1903, which is, I presume, the section the hon. Member has in mind. The proper authorities to make such an application are the London County Council and the Corporation of the City of London.
