§ MR. CATHCART WASON (Orkney and Shetland)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board if, in view of the fact that the building by-laws are more stringent in certain rural districts than in the county of London, he will take steps to compel their withdrawal, and issue practically uniform reasonable building regulations.
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. GERALD BALFOUR, Leeds, Central)The subject of building by-laws in rural districts is receiving my attention; but I am not empowered to compel the withdrawal of existing by-laws or to issue building regulations in their place.
