HC Deb 28 March 1905 vol 143 cc1361-2
MR. LOUIS SINCLAIR (Essex, Romford)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a letter sent by registered post from the Ilford Post Office on February 17th last, and addressed to Mr. W. Josling, Senior, Clarke's Farm, Walter Belchamp, near Sudbury, was allowed to be intercepted by Mr. W. Josling, Junior, of Fisher's Farm, Walter Belchamp, who destroyed it without its reaching the addressee; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take in the matter as regards punishment and redress.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) I am aware of the case mentioned. The registered letter was delivered to the addressee's representative. The addressee, who was ill in bed at the time, states that he approves the action taken with regard to it. I do not, therefore, feel called upon to take any further steps.
