HC Deb 22 March 1905 vol 143 c778
MR. MARKS (Kent, Thanet)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether reports are periodically made to the Admiralty by the coastguards as to the erosion of the sea cliffs around the British coast, and as to the removal of shingle and other material from the beaches; and whether any, and if any what, action is taken upon such reports.

(Answered by Mr. Pretyman.) The coastguard officers report to the Association for the Advancement of Science observations of coast changes; and to the Board of Trade the removal of shingle and other material from the beaches; but no periodical reports are made as to erosion of sea cliffs around the British coast.
