§ MR. JAMES O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he has received a copy of a resolution recently passed by the Wicklow County Council, to the effect that the council consents for one year to the by-laws submitted on behalf of the War Office, provided that the War Office pay to the general fund of the county council as compensation to the ratepayers of Baltinglass and the surrounding districts for the loss of user, and the stoppage of the roads around the Glen of Imaal range, a sum of £400 on or before the 30th April, 1905, for the year 1905, the question of paying for the costs incurred by the increased traffic on these roads to be arranged hereafter between the War Office and the county council, or, in lieu thereof, the sum of £60 annually hitherto paid, with the arrears due, be secured to the council; and, if so, will he say whether the War Office accepts the conditions as laid down by the Wicklow County Council in the resolution.
