§ MR. CATHCART WASON (Orkney and Shetland)I beg to ask the Postmaster-General if he can ascertain if the damage to the Shetland cable was caused by trawlers working within the three-mile limit; and, if so, will he consider what steps it is advisable to take to prevent a recurrence of such mischief.
LORD STANLEYIt is not improbable that the damage to the cable to which the hon. Member refers was caused by trawlers. The question of how such damage can be avoided has received consideration, and I will see whether it is possible to take any further steps in the matter.
