HC Deb 17 March 1905 vol 143 cc330-1
DR. MACNAMARA

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will lay Papers showing the instances in which rations, stores, and supplies generally despatched to South Africa during; 1899, 1900, and 1901 were destroyed or returned as unfit in quality or short in amount, with the reason for their destruction or return, and the names of the contractors supplying such stores in each case.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Arnold-Forster.) I am afraid that I cannot undertake to give a Return of all such cases, but I will ascertain whether, without throwing excessive labour on the War Department, it be possible to give information in respect to all cases involving a loss of £5,000 or upwards.
