§ Mr. CAWLEYreported from the Committee on Group B of Private Bills; That the parties promoting the South Metropolitan Gas Bill had stated that the evidence of Vivian B. Lewes, Professor of Chemistry at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, was essential to their case; and, it having been proved that 328 his attendance could not be procured without the intervention of the House, he had been instructed to move that the said Vivian B. Lewes do attend the said Committee on Monday next, at Eleven of the clock.
