§ MR. DELANYTo ask Mr. Attorney-General for Ireland whether he will state what are the statutory rights of county and district inspectors of the Royal Irish Constabulary which forbid their reduction in proportion to that of the rank and file of the force.
(Answered by Mr. Atkinson.) Under the Acts relating to the Royal Irish Constabulary officers cannot retire on pension, except on the grounds of ill-health, until they are sixty years of age and have completed forty years service. The rank and file of the force can retire on pension at twenty-five years service, and they attain their maximum pension at twenty-nine years service.
