§ MR. FLYNNI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has received a copy of a resolution passed unanimously by the Millstreet Rural District Council, protesting against the threatened evictions on the Thompson-Orpen Estate in that district, and requesting the Chief Secretary to refuse to lend the forces of the Crown in carrying out eviction proceedings; and what steps he intends to take in respect to the request of the local representative body.
§ MR. ATKINSONThe resolution has been received. I have already informed the hon. Member that the Executive are bound in law to afford protection to the sheriff in the execution of the King's writs.
