§ MR. SHACKLETONI beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he can state the cost of supervision, examination, and distribution in relation to the actual cost of production of instruments at Holloway Factory.
LORD STANLEYA large part of the work done in the factories is not production, but repair; and it would be difficult accurately to apportion the cost of supervision, while the cost of examination and distribution is common to both instruments made in the factories and those made outside.
§ MR. SHACKLETONWould it not be to the interest of the Department to know the facts I have asked for?
§ MR. SHACKLETONOh!
