§ Captain JESSEL reported from the Committee on Group D of Private Bills; 1356 That the parties opposing the Sunderland and South Shields Water Bill had stated that the evidence of Mr. William Matthews, of 19, French Street, Southampton, Engineer, was essential to their case; and, it having been proved that his attendance could not be procured without the intervention of the House, he had been instructed to move that the said Mr. William Matthews do attend the said Committee to-morrow, at Eleven of the clock.
