§ COLONEL WELBY (Taunton)I beg to ask the hon. Member for Chorley, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware of the discomfort experienced by Members, especially in hot weather, crowded in the division lobbies after the outer doors of the Chamber have been locked; and whether he can see his way to recommending the appointment of a Committee to consider and report on suggestions for new exits to be used as soon as the outer doors are locked.
§ *LORD BALCARRESThe reply to the first paragraph is in the affirmative. The First Commissioner is unable to give any reply to the second paragraph; it appears to him to be a matter for the House. My hon. and gallant friend's suggestions might be discussed on the Estimate for Houses of Parliament Buildings.
