HC Deb 13 March 1905 vol 142 cc1183-4
MR. MARKHAM

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the directors of the Premier Mine have entered into an agreement with a Mr. S. Neumann, a director of the Premier Mine, giving this gentleman the sale of all diamonds found in the Premier Mine; and whether, seeing this gentleman is associated in business with the directors of the De Beers Mine, a competing company, he will say what steps, if any, he proposes taking to safeguard the interests of the Transvaal Government in connection with the sale of these diamonds.

(Ansivered by Mr. Secretary Lyttelton.) I have received no information to this effect.
