§ MR. J. P. FARRELLI beg to ask Mr. Attorney-General for Ireland whether any reply has yet been received from the Estates Commissioners on the subject of the proposed purchase of the Dopping Hepenstall Estate, in North Longford, under the 7th Section of the Land Act of 1903.
§ MR. ATKINSONNo proceedings are at present before the Commissioners in respect to this estate, and it does not appear, so I am informed, that the sale of this estate is pending in the Land Judge's Court. If particulars of the property are supplied to the Commissioners 928 they will consider the question of issuing a request under the enactment referred to.
§ MR. J. P. FARRELLIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that in this case a petition was signed by the leading men of the district, and the priests and clergy of all denominations, asking the Commissioners to take action? Will he draw their attention to it?
§ MR. ATKINSONI am sure if the petition has been received it will receive the attention of the Commissioners.
