HC Deb 26 June 1905 vol 148 cc77-8
MR. J. A. PEASE (Essex, Saffron Walden)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the Sales Department, appointed by Lord Kitchener on June 18th, 1902, kept strict ledgers and accounts for all transactions in accordance with his orders; and, if so, whether there is any official information showing that in the disposal of stores committed to the Sales Department there has been a wastage of three or four millions of money.

MR. ARNOLD-FORSTER

The records of the Sales Department have been retained in South Africa. The points raised by the hon. Member will form part of the inquiry by the Royal Commission, and I am not, therefore, now in a position to deal with them.
