BOLAND (Kerry, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the rate on returned empties from Sneem to Cork has been increased from 10d. to Is. per cwt., and has been further increased recently to 1s. 3d., rendering the cost double what was charged by the Clyde Shipping Company; whether the Congested Districts Board got any undertaking from the railway company regarding the rate on empties; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take in the matter.
