HC Deb 01 June 1905 vol 147 cc421-2
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

To ask the Lord-Advocate if he will state how many proprietors have, during the last financial year, proposed to break up farm lands, in order that they may be divided up into holdings suitable for crofter and cottar tenants on their estates; and will he state the names of the counties in which the farms referred to are respectively situated, and the number in each county.

(Answered by Mr. Scott Dickson.) I regret I cannot give the hon. Member the information he desires. In cases where proprietors make proposals to the Board negotiations must be confidential until they are adjusted.
