§ MR. T. W. RUSSELL (Tyrone, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the test case submitted to Mr. Justice Mere-dith by the Estates Commissioners on the true construction of Section 5 of the Land Purchase Act of 1903 has been heard in the absence of the tenant purchaser; and whether no notice of the hearing was served upon him, although Mr. Justice Meredith directed that it should be done.
§ MR. WALTER LONGThe case referred to is still sub judice, and, following the invariable practice, I must decline to discuss it through the medium of a Question.
§ MR. T. W. RUSSELLIt has been argued in the absence of the tenant.
§ Mr. WALTER LONGI have nothing to do with that. It is a matter for the Judge, and I have no right to discuss his action.
§ MR. T. W. RUSSELLAt any rate, that is what has taken place.
