§ MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY
I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state the number of tenants who have bought, or agreed to buy, their holdings in the Western Parliamentary Division of the county of Limerick; the number of applications made by evicted tenants for reinstatement in their holdings there; how many of these have been reinstated 450 since November 1st, 1903, by the landlords; and how many of them have been reinstated by the Estates Commissioners, or given equivalent holdings, since the same date, and the names of such tenants in both cases.
§ MR. WALTER LONG
The records of the Commissioners are not kept by Parliamentary Divisions. Agreements for purchase have been received from 1,565 tenants in county Limerick. Two hundred and sixty-four applications of evicted tenants for reinstatement have been received, and of these four have been reinstated by the landlords, but none by the Commissioners. Three other tenants, who had not made application to the Commissioners, have been reinstated by the landlord. I will procure and forward to the hon. Member the names of the tenants reinstated.
