HC Deb 31 July 1905 vol 150 c936
MR. DELANY (Queen's County, Ossory)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is yet in a position to state what is the result of the inquiry made by the Inspector-General of Constabulary into the disappearance of Constable Masterson, of Maryborough, while under a rule of bail to appear at the assizes; and whether the inquiry was made on oath.

MR. WALTER LONG

The constable's disappearance was fully inquired into by the Inspector-General, who found that the police were in no way to blame in the matter. The inquiry was not held on oath.
