HC Deb 31 July 1905 vol 150 c908
MR. JAMES O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether it is any part of the duty of a supervising officer in the telegraph service to satisfy himself as to the authenticity of telegrams originating in or passing through his office.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The duty of a supervising officer in this matter would be dictated by circumstances, which vary so greatly that I am unable to give an Answer in general terms.
