HC Deb 27 July 1905 vol 150 c619
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Board of Trade whether any, and, if so, what decision has been come to by the law officers of the Crown with regard to the position of the Irish Provident Assurance Company.

MR. BONAR LAW

I am informed that the inquiries regarding the Irish Provident Assurance Company are not yet complete, and that the matter is still under the consideration of the authorities in Dublin.

MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

As this is a matter which concerns a large number of poor men will the hon. Gentleman press it forward?

MR. BONAR LAW

I can assure the hon. Member that it is being gone into very thoroughly both by the Board of Trade and the Irish Department.

MR. FLAVIN

You have already taken more than three months over the inquiry.
