I beg to ask, the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state whether the Estates Commissioners have received an application for reinstatement from Mrs. Mary Eagan, an evicted tenant on the Nason Estate, Bartlemy, Cork County; and, having regard to the fact that her former holding is now in the landlord's possession, what steps, if any, will the Commissioners take to bring about the restoration of this evicted tenant.

Yes, Sir; but in the absence of proceedings for sale of the estate, the Commissioners are unable to take any effective steps for the evicted tenant's reinstatement.

Where a landlord is willing to sell to the Estates Commissioners a holding, but not the entire estate, can the Commissioners purchase
