HC Deb 26 July 1905 vol 150 c346
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, with a view to preventing obstruction to British trade entering the port of Alexandria, he will instruct Lord Cromer to represent to the Egyptian Government the desirability of removing wrecks from the Boghas Pass and the entrance to Alexandria Harbour; and will he state how long the wreck of the steamship "Cairo," which went aground some months ago, was allowed to remain before any attempt was made to remove it.

THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Earl PERCY,) Kensington, S.

His Majesty's Government have received no information from the Egyptian Government on the subject of the hon. Member's Question.
