HC Deb 24 July 1905 vol 150 c30
MR. CATHCART WASON

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he can now state what steps have been taken to provide mosquito-proof sleeping rooms for railway and other employees in our West African Settlements.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Lyttelton.) I have been in correspondence with the Governors of West African territories on this subject. Mosquito-proof rooms are provided in the quarters of the railway officials in Lagos; but I may observe that there is no established consent as to the advantage of the use of such rooms over that of mosquito nets, which are provided for all employees on the railways in Lagos and on the Gold Coast.
