HC Deb 24 July 1905 vol 150 c33
MR. HARMSWORTH

To ask the Lord-Advocate what steps the Government intends to take, in view of the recommendation of the Departmental Committee on the Sea Fisheries of Sutherland and Caithness, that applications for loans should be invited from persons willing to undertake the business of haddock curing in these counties.

(Answered by Mr. Scott Dickson.) The Congested Districts Board has agreed to give assistance in carrying out the policy referred to by the hon. Member, and the Secretary for Scotland has asked the Fishery Board to advise as to places where curing stations may best be placed.
