HC Deb 20 July 1905 vol 149 cc1370-1
MR. JOSEPH DEVLIN (Kilkenny, N.)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he could state the number of British subjects owning Church property in Prance who would be affected in case the Bill for the separation of Church and State in France became law, and the religious denominations to which they belonged; and whether any steps have been taken in order to safeguard their interests.

(Answered by Earl Percy.) His Majesty's Embassy in Paris have ascertained that no British subjects would be affected by the passage of the Bill, the object of which is to suppress the "Budget of Public Worship," no part of which can be assigned to persons who are not French.
