HC Deb 20 July 1905 vol 149 c1373
CAPTAIN JESSEL (St. Pancras, S.)

To ask the hon. Member for Chorley, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he can explain the reason of the delay in repairing the bridge over the Serpentine; and if he can state when the work will be completed.

(Answered by Lord Balcarres.) It was not advisable to commence the repairs to this bridge during the season, owing to the obstruction which would be caused to the traffic. It is intended to commence them as soon as Parliament rises, and to complete the work by some date in October.
