HC Deb 17 July 1905 vol 149 c866
MR. DELANY (Queen's County, Ossory)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will arrange that station sergeants in the Dublin Metropolitan Police shall wear numbers on their collars when on duty, as is done by the ordinary members of the force.

Answered by Mr. Waller Long.) Station sergeants, who are few in number, wear a distinctive uniform, and can be easily identified at any time. There appears to be no reason why they should wear numbers as suggested.
