HC Deb 17 July 1905 vol 149 c858
MR. VINCENT KENNEDY (Cavan, W.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in view of the fact that it costs 25s. 4d. perton to load Irish coal from Castlecomer at Kingsbridge, Dublin, whilst Wigan can be delivered at 16s. per ton, this disadvantage to trade caused entirely by the transit rates in Ireland will receive the consideration of the Government.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) The Department will make inquiry into this matter, which had not previously been brought to their notice.
