MR. WEIR (ROSS and Cromarty)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will state the number of Chinese coolies engaged by the British North Borneo Company's coolie contractor each year since the company's charter was granted; the terms of their engagement; the annual rate of mortality; and the number sent back each year to their own country under the terms of the contract.

(Answered by Earl Percy.) His Majesty's Government understand that no coolie contractor is employed by the company.
