HC Deb 14 July 1905 vol 149 c741
MR. MACVEAGH

TO ask the Postmaster General if the annual leave regulation which provides that annual leave is granted for the purpose of improving health, to enable an officer to render further services, applies to officers who reach the age limit during the year and who may resume duty for a short or long period after having been granted annual leave.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) There is no objection to the grant of annual leave to an officer whose retirement is approaching if he resumes duty for a reasonable period after the leave.
