HC Deb 13 July 1905 vol 149 c543
MR. LOUIS SINCLAIR (Essex, Romford)

To ask the Secretary of State for War what reason, if any, the War Office has in not supplying the Romford battery of Artillery Volunteers with modern guns as promised, seeing that the battery is in every way equal in efficiency with the other batteries of the battalion, which are so supplied.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Arnold-Forster.) The stock of those modern guns has hitherto only been sufficient to supply companies of Volunteer garrison artillery which are allotted to coast defences on mobilisation, and the company mentioned is not so allotted.
