HC Deb 12 July 1905 vol 149 c397
MR. MACVEAGH

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state the names of the English teachers who are stated by the Board of National Education to have sought employment under that Board; and how many of them were Irishmen who for family or personal reasons wished to return to their own country.

MR. WALTER LONG

The Commissioners cannot say how many teachers from England have sought employment in Irish national schools, but there are at least nine teachers certificated in England who are now employed in Irish schools, and there are at least thirty-five holding Irish certificates who have been employed in England, but are now employed in Irish schools.
