HC Deb 11 July 1905 vol 149 c267
MR. MURPHY (Kerry, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners can treat an unoccupied evicted farm as a separate estate when such farm only includes a small portion of the entire lands owned by a landlord; and, it so, or in any event, have the Commissioners up to the present taken, or do they propose in future to take, any steps for the reinstatement of evicted tenants in such cases without incurring the delay arising until all the lands on the estates on which such unoccupied farms are come before them for sale.

MR. WALTER LONG

The amending Act of 1904 enables the Estates Commissioners to define land wholly or partly untenanted as an estate. Beyond pointing out that fact, I cannot give any opinion on this abstract question of law.
