I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he will at once introduce legislation in order to secure relief to necessitous districts with regard to the burden of the education rate.

This important matter is still engaging attention; but I am not in a position to make any statement on the subject, nor do I think that legislation in the course of the present session would, in any case, be possible.
