HC Deb 06 July 1905 vol 148 c1331
SIR H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

I understand the Leader of the House cannot be present, and I will postpone the Question I had proposed to ask the right hon. Gentleman with reference to public business. There is one Question, however, to which I think it would be desirable that we should get an Answer—namely, whether the Government, recognising the intense interest felt in the present position of the Volunteers and the recent action in regard to them, will bring on the Volunteer Vote next Thursday.

THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY (Sir A. ACLAND-HOOD, Somersetshire, Wellington)

said he was afraid he could not give the right hon. Gentleman an Answer now, because negotiations with the different Parties in the House were involved, but he would endeavour to settle the question that afternoon.
